Director of Training, Part-Time

Locations: Montgomery, Butler, Hamilton, Green and Clark Counties.

The Director of Training will manage all aspects of the YEDF after school ABC program, and report to the President/CEO. The ABC curriculum was developed in collaboration with the Dayton Public School, NASA and the YEDF staff, and will be presented year round on Saturdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm……36 weekly classroom sessions and 12 weeks of exposure by visiting businesses and institutions. Bachelor’s degree and teaching or tutoring experience required.

Curriculum: Entrepreneurship, Character, STEM and Health Care.

Objectives: To plant Seeds of the ABC program in the minds of kids at an early age and Deliver Winning Solutions That Reform Young Minds

 

The Training Director will:

  • Be responsible for recruiting and selecting teachers, teacher’s aids, volunteers and providing staff training and program management assistance..
  • Support teachers in their acquisition of knowledge, skills, and practices that will enable all students to develop a deep, conceptual understanding of the principles and applications of the ABC program
  • Develop, and present comprehensive intake training on policies and procedures to ensure all participant understand and hopefully support the YEDF services.
  • Promotes the ABC curriculum and teaching practices that engage the learner in tasks that require analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and FUN that encourage students to define individual goals and accept responsibility for learning; and provide a variety of methods for student to get excited about the subjects.
  • Identifies staffing needs and assists with the recruitment and selection of teachers and teacher aids.
  • Communicates frequently with parents, principals, teachers, community agencies, and others to promote the ABC services.

Qualifications  

The Training Director must have the skills to collaborate with parents, teachers, staff, supporters and volunteers.

  • Master’s degree preferred, and teaching experiences required,
  • Duties are performed in office, school, and community facilities.

Execution of responsibilities will require week-end work
